FOCUS D.C. Charter Friends Network

FOCUS’s D.C. Charter Friends Network provides opportunities for young professionals and parents to get involved in D.C.'s vibrant school reform movement.

Public charter schools now educate almost half of D.C.’s public school students. FOCUS has been there from the beginning and continues to support our more than 60 charter schools.  Now you can get involved too!

FOCUS will be hosting regular networking events and learning tours to spotlight the great work of the many high-performing charter schools in the District.

On Tuesday, October 21, 2014 FOCUS hosted the first D.C. Charter Friends Network Happy Hour.  More than 50 people braved the rain and joined us at Blackfinn Ameripub for a fun, informative, and inspiring evening. Maquita Alexander, Head of School at Washington Yu Ying PCS spoke briefly about FOCUS’s hard work and support of both the charter sector and the individual schools in D.C.  Click here to see the PowerPoint presentation from the event with key information about the current state of the D.C. charter school movement.
