School Design Workshops

About the Program

 

Since the program’s inception in 2004, 97% of all successful charter petitioners worked with FOCUS to prepare their applications.  The next School Design Workshop series will be held in the summer of 2012. During the workshops, Founding Groups learn how to design their public charter schools according to the terms set forth by the DC Public Charter School Board’s (PCSB) Application Guidelines.  FOCUS provides the following support during this program:

 

  1. One copy of the FOCUS “Guide to Starting a Public Charter School in the District of Columbia.”*
  2. Up to three spaces at each of the School Design Workshops.
  3. Founding Groups will be able to attend workshops on the following topics (some will be presented on the same day):

Enrollment Criteria

 

Any founding group may participate in the School Design Workshops.

 

Cost

 

The cost per founding group is $575 for the full webinar series for up to three people to attend each workshop. Payment is due prior to the first workshop.
